Super Runner Juice
Now I have started adding chia to my juice. I have read great things about this seed and so I had to
try it. Ally a fellow blogger from Made Of Stars said she adds chia to her juice every morning and also cooks with it. Which I also did for the first time in my Vegan Black Bean Sausage Patties recipe.
I am reading a book called Born To Run by Christopher Mcdougall he writes about chai saying
“As tiny as those seeds are, theyre superpacked with omega-3s, omega-6s, protein, calcium, iron, zinc, fiber, and antioxidants” He also writes “Chia was once so treasured, the Aztecs used to
deliver it to their king in homage. Aztec runners used to chomp chia seeds as they went and the Hopis fueled themselves on chia during their epic runs from Arizona to the Pacific
Ocean” Now as I runner I related to that and maybe it is the boost I need to run for longer..

So i basically made my favourite juice which includes spirulina, wheatgrass and now
Salvia hispanica – Chia.

Super Runner’s Juice
½ lime, peeled
2 apples, any type except Granny Smiths as they don’t juice well
½ pineapple
½ medium cucumber
½ ripe avocado
1/2 tsp wheatgrass powder
1 level tsp spirulina
1/2 Tbsp Chia seeds
1/2 Tbsp flaxseeds

Instructions
Juice the apples, pineapple, cucumber and lime.
Put the avocado flesh into a blender with the wheatgrass, chia, flaxseeds and the spirulina.
Blend everything until smooth, pour and enjoy.
